I am in UK currently. How can I get CGS from pakistan? Is it possible that someone else can get it on my behalf in person from Islamabad office urgently in a day or two?

Secondly, on the PMDC form for CGS, apart from other documents they require, there is also a LETTER OF DEMAND/REQUEST (from GMC ofcourse) or an affidavit. As I am in UK and cannot peronally sign a Rs.10/- affidavit in Pak, how can I get an alterntive which is a LETTER from GMC that they require a CGS?

Has somebody done this before. Please guide.

For how long CGS is valid (in case i do not get a job offer hence registration for 3 or 6 months) ?

Thanks a lot.

I will tell you from my experience the problems that you can face.

1. No one in Pakistani embassy is ready to attest your Degree and Other certificates, i showed them the form which clearly says that you need to get them attested by an authorised person from Embassy.

Met a ego centric person called Mr Afzal Shah who is no help at all!!!

2. About the affidavit, well you can get a letter from GMC or Print the website request and then get that attested by someone and then you dont need to send affidavit.

3. You can send it directly to PMDC by paying extra Rs 200 in addition to Rs 3000/- bank draft can be made at UBL bank branch in Pakistani High Commission.

I faxed Mr Masud who is the acting high commissioner in absence of Dr Maliha Lodhi. I would suggest that we all should gather and make a visit to Embassy and demand justice for us who face these problems. Also they charge £5/signature.

Its better you send your documents to someone in Pakistan and get them attested who can then forward all the relevant information to PMDC.

hope this helps..

takecare

good luck .

on the eve of Jinnahs Birth i deeply feel sorry that we have forgotton Unity, Faith and Discipline.

I am really greatful and thankful to GUEST for such a detailes answer and helping with this matter. I am really sorry to hear about the attitude of pak high comission as they are supposed to help us pakistanis here. I fully agree that we should go to the embassy all together and try to present our problem directly to Dr Maliha Lodhi (whom i dont know whether is a medical doctor herself or not) but we should try that there should be more co-operation and procedure to facillitate these matters on there part.

UNITY, FAITH, DISCIPLINE, indeed we need these principles today especially we , who r living abroad in search of a career and facing hardships as there is nobody to guide us through.

We shall make a ONE united forum for all DOCTORS from pakistan facing problems and helping them in whatever way we can. Mind it that, not financial or physical, even the least of a moral support in this foreign country works wonders for others and can make a huge difference in someone's life.

I am planning to make a dedicated website for pakistani doctors in uk. Lets put a foundation stone for Association of Pakistani Doctors in UK or Pakistan Doctor's Society of UK.(Suggest more names). Every doctor from Pakistan would be eligible to join. There will be a forum for discussion of common problems. Helping each other from IELTS to PLAB2 to attachments to job and parallel problems.

All suggestions welcome. Lets make a new refreshed new year resolution that "

We will help each other in achieveing their goals"

Thanks.

To all of you:

GSC from PMDC takes 7 days...but if u pay urgent fee of Rs 200....u can get it same day.

Secondly,Say to hell with high comission people................they do not represent u......forget them.

Now......ask your brother/ sister/father/mother/wife whoever is applying on your behalf to GIVE AN AFFIDAVIT saying:

I---------------------- brother/sister/wife of Dr..............hereby slomenly affirm that he needs Good Standing Certificate for registration/employment in UK.

I did that way....and it works....at PMDC there is no bureaucracy......they accept this affidavit.

I think the idea by doc S is great. I really look forward to such a platform for all of us.

Secondly thanks a million GUEST. Indeed someone on my behalf could do CGS from pmdc. And the solution to affidavit you have given is marvellous if that actually works. As you said it worked for you, it means that is great. I will try doing the same.

God bless.

the idea by docs is indeed good . if such a society /forum is formed i would love to join .we can share experiences & get guidance from all those who had been through it . coming here & starting a career here is specially difficult for pakistani girls ,probably coz of overprotection by our parents ,society.we don,t get contacts, guidance as easily as guys do .such a society/forum will hopfully also enable us girls from same society to share our problems & concerns in this foreign land .
their are already many such pakistani doctors societies working here but they don,t represent young doctors & those old doctors there don,t really understand our problems.
docs bring this idea to practice .
alll the best,
jasia.

Thanks for encouraging Guest and Jasia. If there are people out there to encourage and join with motivation. I feel we can do it big time. I have thought of an official name for the association. please suggest more/changes.

Association of Young Pakistani Doctors in UK (AYPD-UK)

I would secure an email address and will start working on the web site and discussion forum.

Thanks.
