This course is run by the Resus Counsil. ALS is expensive and a long wait. Do you think this is useful?

It's Immediate Life Support and not Intermediate,of no use as ALS is also not counted these days for shortlisting, better do ATLS/EPLS/PALS.
Best of luck.

i beg to differ with the above opinion.

ALS is very much counted for especially when applying for medical sho jobs, since u will be expected to be part of the arrest team

ATLS on the otherhand, falls in the surgical career pathway. Its an expensive course as it costs arounds £500 and waiting lists can be as long as 1 year

to Guest ,

ALS is Advanced Life Support Course
ACLS is Advanced Cardiac Life Support Course.....

Hey, is it possible if we do a BLS/ACLS here at our home country whether thatwill suffice for the Job aplications there..?? Is it necessary that an ACLS/BLS/ ATLS should be taken in the UK AGAIN..??

Thanks & Regards to all & MERRY CHRISTMAS !!!!!!!!!!!

hi,

Its better if u do ACLS course in your country but these people want you to follow there rules and it will be essential for u to do the course in UK and get a Certificate by UK Resusitation Council . Mind you it very costly , 350 GBP. If you have done course from India as i have done, I think the course is sponsored by American Heart Association. So better do it here instead of spending money back home as well.

bye.

hi Dr khan,
the ALTS course in india is around 3000 rs & you have rightly said ..it is accredted by the American Heart Association..!!
wel, so no use in doing the ALTS/BLS/ATLS course, as we shld do the sourse again in the United Kingdom..!!!!

Anyway, it costs just arnd 38 GBP ,when compared tothe 300 GBP in the UK !!!!!!!
Sad
